This was always going to be a formidable test. Canford was now having to face schools which played netball all year round and their teams were made up of club players. It was to be a tough test with no easy games to be had. This was exemplified in the opening game against New College Swindon, who were the eventual winners, as they showed us just what we had to step up to. Canford struggled in this and its next game, but rather than hanging their heads and going through the motions, the Canford girls stuck at it and worked hard to get their game back on track. A narrow loss in the next round to eventual semi-finalists, Exeter College, saw us heading in the right direction. We continued to learn and persevere and to the girls credit they turned a potential whitewash around in the final two games winning well against Truro High and in their final game against Dean Close. It was a valuable experience for all of Canford's players and one which they can learn from for the season ahead.
