17 of Canford's musicians took part in the Senior Music Competition on Friday 3rd March. Their performances were subjected to the scrutiny of adjudicator, Olivia Sparkhall and some nerves before the evening began were apparent. Once the music started, though, everyone seemed to relax and a thoroughly enjoyable evening of high-quality performances was had by everyone. Mrs Sparkhall made some very helpful comments to all of the performers and adjudged the following winners. Piano - Jon Putman; Strings - Tim Rathbone; Woodwind - Ed Walker; Lower Brass - James Aiken; Trumpets - Peter Stuart. Peter was also awarded the overall prize as winner of the competition. Congratulations to all performers, but especially to Peter (below).
