Art Examinations
GCSE Year Guide
You are to produce 2 coursework units. Then there will be a terminal exam where the build up is 8 weeks and then you will sit a 10 hour exam. The GCSE in line with AS levels course is called GCSE Fine Art (linear).
When you return in September you should have started your first coursework project, the title of which will be given to you at the end of the 4th form. This will last until towards the end of the Winter term. That's when the second project will begin and this will last until you start the exam. The last 8 weeks will therefore be left for the terminal exam.
The 2 coursework units that you will produce will be set by us. The titles we choose encourage you to work in very different ways, showing your versatility and ability as an artist. The final terminal exam is set by the board.
