Returning from Autumn half term, Canford's chapel choir sang evensong in Winchester Cathedral. Squeezing its 60 members into the choir stalls provided a challenge, but there was no compromise in the quality of singing. Howell's glorious Gloucester Service floated around the building, and Bainton's anthem 'And I saw a New Heaven' captured the tone of an evensong in the week between All Souls and Remembrance Sunday. The Dean of Winchester was effusive in his praise, describing the choir as 'very professional'. For recent ex-choristers, Jamie McGill and Rupert Dugdale, this visit was a lovely way to return to the Cathedral, but singing tenor.
