Double Dutch for Under 14 Girls Hockey Tour
The Under 14 A and B hockey squads rounded off a highly successful
season by winning all eight of the matches they played on their recent
tour to The Hague during the Easter holidays.
The girls had the chance to watch a national league
game at HGC, received some coaching tips from GB international Simon
Mantell, and then went on to record victories at Alecto and Forescate.
On the final day, both sides turned on the style to bring home an
enormous cup from the Roomburg tournament. Tournament organised Leo
Snaar was very impressed by the power and organisation of the Canford
sides, and has vowed to win the cup back when Roomburg visit Canford in
June!
The pick of the games for the A team was the 1-0 win over Roomburg; a
side unbeaten since September and top of their regional league. The B
team also showed resilience and team spirit when they fought back from
2-0 down at HT v Forescate to win 3-2 with the last hit of the game.
8/8 wins, a great tour which everyone thoroughly enjoyed and played
some wonderful hockey.
