A group of French Sixth Form pupils join us for two days from Grignard School in Cherborg as part of an exchange programme which has been running for three years, organised by Peter Fryer, Canford's Head of Modern Languages.
The pupils are taking lessons in Biology, Economics, History and Geography with pupils from Canford going over to France in the summer where they will have the opportunity to visit La Cite de La Mer, aquarium and museum. This vast scientific and touristic site brings together exhibitions devoted to underwater adventures, with Le Redoutable, the first French nuclear ballistic missile submarine and a collection of aquariums with the highest cylindrical tank in Europe. The visit will also give Canford pupils an opportunity to study marine life on the rocky shores of the Cherborg Peninsula.
