| Canford's U14 boys'and U14 girls' teams who both recently won the West of England Tournament |
There have been three times the celebrations at Canford School recently with the news that our U14 girls’, U14 boys’ and U16 boys’ hockey teams have all won the West of England titles in their respective categories. Both of the U14 teams defeated local rivals Bryanston School in the finals of the county competitions to be crowned Dorset County Champions, and went on to represent Dorset in the West of England tournament where they beat Somerset, Wiltshire and Devon to move through to the knock out rounds. This weekend the U16 boys’ team also won the West of England title, making it a hat trick for the school. Commenting on the victories of all three teams, one of the hockey coaches put their remarkable success down to 'sound basic skills and excellent team spirit'.
All three teams will now go on to the quarterfinals of the National Championships, to be held later this month. Well done to all the teams and coaches.
