Headline News: Record Oxbridge Results
Record Oxbridge Results

This year sees a record number of offers made to pupils who have applied to Oxford and Cambridge. In total, seventeen offers have been made, of which five are for Medicine and four for Natural Sciences.

This year's successful applicants.
This year's successful applicants.
Pupils attempt Oxbridge entrance at Canford as part of a process where they study their chosen subject, under the guidance of a teacher, at greater depth than is possible in the course of preparation for A level exams. This is an exciting journey which has great rewards for all who undertake it, whether or not they eventually gain a place at Oxford or Cambridge. But in the context of increasing pressure on places (the number of applicants to Oxbridge has risen by nearly 50% over the past ten years), our record year is truly impressive. We are delighted with our pupils’ success against the odds, which reflects at least a year’s work in preparation for their application.

In Summer 2008 eleven Canford pupils took up places at Oxbridge, making a total of nearly sixty places over the last four years.
