Rescued Seahorse Update
Earlier on in the Christmas Term, a tiny baby
seahorse was brought in to Andrew Powell, Canford's Head of
Biology, by a local fisherman after it became caught in a lobster pot.
The seahorse was nurtured at Canford until it could be picked up by
Neil Garrick-Maidment, executive director of The Seahorse Trust; a
charity which aims to protect and educate people about seahorses and
their vulnerable habitats. Neil recently contacted us with an update
to say that the seahorse, a female now named Cynthia, has doubled in
height and is doing very well.
