**STOP PRESS** 2007's A level Results are Canford's Best Yet
Pupils are celebrating after another year of excellent A level results - by far the best results in the school's history.  Whilst maintaining a 100% pass rate, 62% pupils achieved A grades and 87% achieved AB grades. These figures are likely to rise once all re-marks are complete - the full set of results will be published online in the next few weeks.

  • Despite a national decline, core subjects such as Maths, Sciences, Language and English, continue to flourish with 70% of pupils achieving an A grade in these subjects and 90% an A or B grade.
  • Pupils who chose to study creative subjects; Music, Art, Drama and Design, also performed exceptionally well with 76% achieving grade A and 97% an A or B grade.
  • 57 pupils out of 130 scored 360 points or more ( 3 A grades) and 104  pupils scored 300 points or more ( 3 B grades)
  • Canford pupils studying Music, Art, Latin, German, Spanish and Chinese achieved 100% A grades.

Speaking earlier today, Headmaster John Lever said,  "I am extremely proud of this superb year group.  Their results illustrate the balance and commitment that we try to foster and are a reward for our pupils' vitality, open-mindedness and talent."
