Speech Day 2012

Canford was delighted to welcome Lord Andrew Adonis at Speech Day on Friday 29th June.

The event was held in a marquee on the school lawns.   Speeches by the Chairman of Governors and Headmaster were followed by a presentation of prizes by Lord Adonis, who then gave a thought provoking speech about general educational standards in the UK and his aims for the future.  He praised the success of The Bourne Academy, of which Canford is a lead sponsor, and also commented on the high quality of education offered at Canford, not only in academic results but also within the broader extra curricular successes and opportunities.

Fortunately the weather held for parents, pupils and staff to enjoy drinks outdoors and the traditional 'Canford Gallop' running race around the Sunken Lawn.    A number of musical events were held during the afternoon, and guests viewed a variety of artistic displays.

The Leavers' Ball this evening marks the end of another successful academic year at Canford.
