Layard Theatre

The Layard Theatre and accompanying venues are ideally placed within easy reach of each other for performances, product launches, presentations, seminars, conferences, training days, events, awards, networking, workshops, concerts and auctions.

With compact, intermediate and larger scale options available, we can work with you to provide the package that's right for your needs, and provide a range of catering options from tea, coffee and biscuits through to champagne and canapes, or a seated meal provision.

The Layard Theatre - for up to 295 seated, projection and lectern format for presentations and launches. Foyer space for up to 45 with screen and flexible seating. Jarman Studio with screen, suitable for workshops or breakout groups of up to 18 people.

The Assembly Hall - for up to 600, with a range of flexible seating options, accompanying fixed seating blocks on the ground floor and on the mezzanine level. Lectern and screens throughout. Accessible toilet facilities. Available also with main ground floor seating cleared completely for larger scale activities.

The Rathbone and Dugdale rooms

Access to Assembly Hall and toilet facilities via internal corridor.

Dugdale - For up to 40 people, wall mounted television, projection. Tables and chairs can be configured to suit your needs.

Rathbone - For up to 40 people seated/standing. A combination of soft seating modules and coffee tables.

Please talk with us about catering options, and add-ons such as golfing, swimming or overnight accommodation on site.

Catering, accommodation, recreational and sporting facilities are available too subject to negotiation. Hire rates are competitive and there is a concessionary rate for non-commercial events.

We hire staging units and technical equipment; from moving lights and radio mics to door and window flats and chaise lounges! Please contact us to discuss your needs. Competitive rates of hire are available.

Stage Properties Hire

We have a range of stage properties for hire, from whiskey decanters and typewriters to bentwood chairs and captain’s desks. Flexible hire periods are available. Please contact us to see photographs of stock and to discuss how we can support your production needs.

Design Services

Our experienced team are available to supplement your hire of the Layard with lighting and sound design, scenic and audio-visual design packages; and are on hand to offer advice on ways in which we can help you maximise the impact of your event if you would like to informally discuss options when visiting the venue.

Increasingly, productions are making use of projection mapping to add location, atmosphere and the ‘wow’ factor. With years of experience designing for dramas and dance shows from premieres to showcases, we can provide a bespoke service for you.
