The First Festal Evensong of the Conversion of St Paul was held at Winchester Cathedral on Wednesday 24th January 2024. The Canford School choir was honoured to be asked to sing as part of the special Evensong for one of Winchester Cathedral’s Patron Saints.
The music included the canticles, which were Walton’s Chichester service, the anthem, Leighton’s setting of the George Herbert text ‘Let all the world in every corner sing’, and the responses were by Philip Moore.

Director of Music Christopher Sparkhall commented:
We offer our musicians a broad variety of performance opportunities, and having the chance to sing in the inspirational surroundings of Winchester Cathedral made for a very special and memorable evening for all involved. Thank you to the staff at Winchester for making us so welcome. We now look forward to our next external concert in another splendid venue, St John’s Smith Square in London on Sunday 3rd March. The programme will include performances by our Orchestras and Choirs and all members of our wider Canford Community are warmly invited.
