The annual confirmation service was held in Canford Magna Parish Church on Saturday 22nd April.
The Bishop of Sherborne, The Right Reverend Karen Gorham, conducted the service alongside school chaplain Phil Jack. Readings were by Canford staff Al Tyndall and Jack Shannon, both active members of the school church community, with traditional hymns including ‘I vow to thee my country, ‘Amazing Grace’, ‘In Christ alone my hope is found’ and Guide me, O thou great Redeemer’. Fourteen pupils were confirmed across all year groups.
A retiring collection was taken for the Sudan Appeal Fund and after the service families enjoyed a buffet lunch at Canford.
Reverend Phil Jack commented:
“As a Christian Foundation, this annual service is always a very special day for the School as current Canfordians confirm their faith in the presence of their families and friends. In the beautiful surroundings of the Canford Magna Parish Church we were honoured to welcome the Bishop of Sherborne who offered inspirational words for all the candidates. Many congratulations to this year’s confirmed pupils, Brooke, Poppy, Alice, Rose, Tess, Isla, Abi, Ivor, Ed, Frederick, Leo, Joe, Clem and Emily.”
