The annual confirmation service was held in Canford Magna Parish Church on Saturday 14th May.
Families arriving for the 11 o’clock service walked in glorious sunshine through the school grounds to the church. The Bishop of Sherborne, The Right Reverend Karen Gorham, conducted the service alongside school chaplain Phil Jack. Readings were by Canford staff Al Tyndall and Clive Jeffery, both active members of the school church community, with traditional hymns including ‘All Things Bright and Beautiful’, ‘Amazing Grace’, ‘Jerusalem’ and Guide me, O thou great Redeemer’. Sixteen pupils were confirmed across all year groups.
A retiring collection was taken for the Sudan Appeal Fund and after the service families enjoyed a buffet lunch in John o’Gaunt’s.
Many congratulations to this year’s confirmed pupils, Isaac, Jack, Grace, Katie, Lottie, Finn, Ben, Hannah, Archie, Alice, Megan, William, Charlie, Daisy, Bea and Isla.

As a Christian Foundation, this annual service is always a very special day for the School as current Canfordians confirm their faith in the presence of their families and friends. In the beautiful surroundings of the Canford Magna Parish Church, and with the added bonus of glorious Spring sunshine, we were honoured to welcome the Bishop of Sherborne who offered inspirational words for all the candidates."
