Fifth former Reza is going from strength to strength on the racing circuit. Following junior karting success at Andover where he dominated the final to finish a massive 7.5 seconds ahead of the rest of the pack, he gave a fine performance at Brands Hatch earlier this month in his debut car race at the Michelin Ginetta Junior Winter Series weekend. From a field of 18 drivers, he demonstrated amazing pace in qualifying commanding a 4th and 5th place in his two sessions over Saturday and Sunday which placed him in a great position from which to commence battle in the races. Sadly, a mechanical failure from a failed differential robbed him of a podium in the first race but in true Canford courageous spirit he fought back in all three races over the two days to take podiums in the Rookie class and a 3rd place overall in the final race on Sunday. He also secured the spot as the highest scoring debutant of the weekend and cemented a place as 3rd place Rookie over the whole weekend.
We will continue to watch Reza’s progress in this highly competitive sport and wish him the best of luck with his forthcoming races.
