Pupil success in WMAGC European International Martial Arts Games

Congratulations to Fifth Form pupil, Aaron B, on his success at the WMAGC European International Martial Arts games over the summer.

Representing his home nation of Wales, this year as Team Captain, Aaron won gold medals in U16 Japanese Kata, Creative Kata and Points Sparring, making him the U16 European Champion for all three categories. Aaron also achieved silver medals in Kumite (Japanese Sparring) and Continuous Sparring - thus bringing home a medal for each category he entered. His Creative Kata included a beautifully executed spinning hook kick which was commended by the judges.

Aaron is currently a Brown belt at 3rd Kyu, so his progress over the coming two years will be exciting as he works towards gaining his Black Belt and 1st Dan status.

As with his World Games Martial Arts Champion title which he won last year in Florida, he will retain these titles for two years.

He lead his team from the front, coming home with the highest medal tally in the team, and both his team and family could not be more proud of him!

This video of Aaron shows his impressive Japanese kata, Chintō, which produced one of the highest kata scores of the competition.
