Huge congratulations to Canford’s Rifles Cup Team which came away with the winner’s trophy at this year’s Cadet Cup competition earlier this term.
The Rifles Cadet Cup is open to all ACF and CCF Cadet Forces that are affiliated to the Rifles. Given that 25% of Army Cadets wear the Rifles Cap badge (approx. 18,000+ Cadets) and there are 48 Rifles CCFs in the country, coming 1st in this national competition is significant. The team of nine Canford cadets, led by Abi and Frederick, took part in the two day competition run across the arduous terrain of Sennybridge Training Area, on the northern edge of the Brecon Beacons and home to the Infantry Battle School.
During the event Cadets were put to the test through a series of stances, which included, navigation, section attacks, first aid and marksmanship, with Canford School crowned the CCF national champions.
