On the evening of Wednesday 23rd March, the Canford community welcomed pupils and families of Christ the King Primary School and Heathlands Primary School to Canford’s Long Gallery for the annual Shine Graduation Ceremony. There was an air of excitement from the Class of 2022 on graduation evening, as due to Covid restrictions the event has not been able to go ahead for the past three years. 17 pupils took part in the Shine programme, ‘Serious Fun on Saturdays’, whereby each Saturday morning the children took part in a series of dynamic workshops and enrichment lessons in a variety of academic departments and the celebration evening marked the end of this programme. The pupils put on a presentation for parents, were awarded certificates and a book by Canford’s Headmaster, Mr Ben Vessey, and the evening was rounded off with a celebratory buffet. Congratulations to all pupils involved! We hope the experience offered them an inspirational platform for their futures.
We now eagerly await the launch event which starts off the process for the next cohort of pupils in June.
