Canford ranks No. 1 South West Co-ed Independent Boarding and Day School at A Level A* and GCSE 9-7

Canford is well recognised for its high quality, rounded education across curriculum learning, co-curricular opportunities and supportive pastoral care for positive pupil wellbeing. Within this, the school has a deserved national and regional reputation for first class academic outcomes and we are hugely proud that the academic successes of our talented pupils, supported by our talented teaching staff, have been recognised once again in the 2025 Sunday Times Parent Power guide.

Among co-educational independent boarding and day secondary schools in the South West region, Canford once again ranks No.1 at A Level A* for its 2024 results, with a quarter (24.8%) of all entries awarded the very highest A* grade.  At GCSE, Canford also ranks No.1 in the same regional category for grades 9-7 (A*-A) with nearly three quarters (73.5%) of all grades at this level. Once again our pupils have achieved outstanding exam results through a combination of hard work and positive approach to their studies, guided by our dedicated team of specialist teaching staff.  Every individual pupil is given the encouragement to fulfil the school vision to ‘explore, express and excel’ and this is evident across both classroom learning and the wealth of enrichment opportunities we offer beyond it to develop a broad base of skills. We are all extremely proud that their academic achievements have been recognised regionally and nationally, and will stand pupils in good stead for their futures in the world beyond Canford whatever career pathway they choose.
