Spellbinding Drama - 'And then there were none'
The Layard Theatre was filled with mystery and suspense over three nights as pupils performed the dark Agatha Christie thriller ‘And then there were none’ in the penultimate week of the Easter Term. A sumptuous set inspired by the hotel in Devon where Christie wrote the original plot was created by our talented theatre technicians, with period props all sourced from our own props department and managed by our Canford pupil crew members. The tension in the script ably portrayed by the cast was superbly matched by our pupil lighting and sound operators who created a range of weather conditions on the island to move the narrative along and stretch the nerves of the audience.
The production was a masterpiece of dramatic construction, with theatre-goers treated to a growing sense of dread which kept them guessing to the very end! Thank you to everyone involved in creating such a spellbinding production.
