Canfordian performs at First Night of the Proms

The Music department at Canford is celebrating the achievements of a recent leaver, OC Giselle Dugdale.

This summer, Giselle gained a Distinction in both Grade 8 Musical Theatre exam and my ARSM performance diploma, making her an Associate of the Royal Schools of Music.  She was also chosen to perform at the prestigious First Night of the Proms as a member the Proms Youth Choir.  Performing John Adams, 'Harmonium' was a real challenge but also a wonderful experience working under Simon Halsey and conducted by Ed Gardner.

This month Giselle was invited to join the BBC Singers to perform Birtwistle's 'The Moth Requiem' at the Guildhall as part of the Proms Youth Choir, featured on Radio 3.   After this she will be looking forward to starting her degree in Music at Cardiff University.  We all wish her every continued success and enjoyment of Music.
