Canford places literacy at the heart of learning, Head of English, Richard Redwood, recommends inspiring reads for 16 year olds and the Canford library launches new systems to keep Canford Covid-secure.
We did it! Canford’s first ever Colour Run took place on Sunday 28th April and it was an outstanding success. The pupils, staff and parents who took part raised a total of £1,126 which will be divided equally between the Martin Marriott Foundation for bursaries at Canford and Cancer Research UK. THANK YOU!
Rowena Gaston, Development Director at Canford said:
“When I tasked our Pupil Leaders to come up with a whole school fundraising event, a Colour Run was by far the favourite. Taking it from the planning stage through to the event day was a steep learning curve for us all. Over 200 Canford pupils and parents chose to give up their Sunday afternoon to run 5K and the sheer joy on their faces made it all worthwhile, not to mention raising money for two very special charities. Without the support of the fantastic Canford Community this event would not have been possible, the positive team spirit at Canford has shone through once again! We look forward to organising this event again for 2020 and will hopefully have an even bigger attendance.”
