Canford places literacy at the heart of learning, Head of English, Richard Redwood, recommends inspiring reads for 16 year olds and the Canford library launches new systems to keep Canford Covid-secure.
The annual confirmation service was held in Canford Magna Parish Church on Saturday 29th April.
Families arriving for the 11 o’clock service were warmly welcomed by the Bishop and by school chaplain Phil Jack. The Right Reverend Bill Ind conducted this years’ service. Traditional hymns ‘Great is Thy Faithfulness’, ‘I Vow to Thee My Country’, ‘Guide me, O Thou Great Jehovah’, and ‘In Christ Alone’ were sung as twenty-six Canford pupils were confirmed, with one also being baptised.
A retiring collection was taken for the Sudan Appeal and after the service families enjoyed a buffet lunch in John o’Gaunt’s and Long Gallery.
Photographs of the day can be found here.
Many congratulations to this year’s confirmed pupils:
Milo Dack (also baptised)
