Digital Marketing Project during Lockdown

During the lockdown, marketing agency Inca Loop offered the opportunity to our Business Studies students to take part in a project to create and brand an online payment service.

Sixth Formers Ellen and Grace take up the story:

"Since lockdown began, we have both taken part in the digital marketing activity run by Mr Pearce in conjunction with the marketing agency, ‘Inca Loop’. In this, Canfordians from all year groups made up three teams and came together online in order to create ‘brand identity presentations’, following a mock brief provided by Inca Loop for an online payment service.                        

With weekly Monday afternoon meetings and lots of hard work in between, the final products demonstrated each team’s creative process involved in reaching their final logos and brand names. Using concepts such as psychology of colour and the impact of fonts and shapes on target markets, the activity gave us the opportunity to delve into the world of digital marketing and develop important leadership and communication skills. With Inca Loop involved, we were able to gain a glimpse into the exciting work they do, whilst having the privilege of presenting to Jake helped replicate a real-life work-place scenario, both invaluable experiences for those considering similar career paths.

All three final pitches were impressively professional and Jake from Inca Loop offered excellent feedback, suggesting ideas we hadn’t considered as well as showing us some of his own work. Thanks to Mr Pearce and Inca Loop for giving up their time to create an activity which has proven to be a brilliant way to embrace the unusual circumstances we’ve found ourselves in."
