GCSE Results 2021
Canfordians have received their GCSE results this morning and we are truly delighted for this talented and hard-working year group who have achieved excellence at the highest levels across the spectrum of arts, humanities and sciences. All our Fifth Formers can feel justifiably proud and are now able to look forward to exciting times ahead as they move into the Sixth Form and start their A Level and Pre-U courses.
Headmaster Ben Vessey commented:
”I have been so impressed by the strength of character, dedication and tenacity displayed by our Fifth Formers throughout the past two tremendously challenging years. This group of fine young people have made fantastic contributions to the life of the school community in so many ways beyond the classroom as well as within it. Through their purposeful engagement, and with a courageous attitude, they have developed their skills across the spectrum of intellectual, physical and creative opportunities. Above all it has been hugely uplifting to see the way they have looked out for and looked after each other with such a deep sense of mutual respect, genuine warmth and humanity. To combine all these efforts with excellence in their academic results during times of great anxiety and uncertainty through the pandemic is an outstanding achievement. I am very much looking forward to welcoming this wonderful year group back with their numbers swelled by the exciting addition of our new Lower Sixth joiners. I look forward to watching them all mature and grow together through engagement with the many new avenues and experiences which will be open to them during their time in the Sixth Form. Their futures look very bright indeed.
I also reiterate my heartfelt thanks to all our teaching staff who have worked tirelessly especially when running a full remote teaching programme to ensure that our pupils have had the opportunity to achieve their very best despite the unprecedented circumstances.”
Further information will be published on the school website in due course.
