Moon Festival 2018
The Moon Festival Celebration
The evening was an opportunity to celebrate our pupils’ cultures and diversity, with nationalities from across three continents represented. The Moon Festival is a traditional Chinese celebration, similar to that of Thanksgiving, where families come together to reflect on the year and pray for a successful following year. In Canford, the Festival consisted of over 30 pupils reading poetry in different languages, drinking jasmine tea and eating Moon Cakes. There was even a Chinese drumming performance. Afterwards, the group went outside to observe the moon through the school telescope with help from Dr Horton.
