Remembrance 2020

Canford marks Remembrance 2020

Canfordians both onsite and across the globe joined together on 11th November to remember all those who lost their lives in combat.  The school orchestra recorded a unique, socially distanced and highly emotive performance of Elgar’s ‘Nimrod’ which premiered on YouTube from 1100.  All those associated with the school were encouraged to take a few moments to listen at this time.  If you missed the performance, the recording is available on the school Music YouTube channel

In the early afternoon, pupils and staff who wished to gathered, again socially distanced, around the Sunken Lawn for a short service including prayers from Reverend Phil Jack, the school chaplain, and wreath laying by the Heads of School and on behalf of OCs.  The full image gallery is available at the link below:

It was with great sadness that we could not honour the fallen through our usual whole school chapel services and welcome OCs, parents and friends of the school, but we hope that even from a distance all were able to mark the occasion and feel part of our Canford community.
