Let's Talk - Mike Hayward

‘Let’s Talk’ is a series of online events we are organising for the Canford Community and we are delighted to announce that OC Mike Hayward W02 will join us on Thursday 12th November at 7pm via ZOOM to share memories of his days at Canford, as well as how his career has developed. 

Mike is currently a police officer within the Metropolitan Police Service. He has 15 years of service and for the last 3 years, has been part of The Flying Squad. The Flying Squad take responsibility for investigating serious organised criminal networks, specifically, commercial armed robberies, and demand led kidnaps. The role necessitates that all officers are surveillance trained, carry firearms and are also advanced drivers, as well as being seasoned investigators. Mike has previously worked on fugitive units, borough crime squads, public order units, burglary squads, firearms departments, Trident (gang and gun crime) and various uniformed roles dealing with anything and everything.

Join Mike for an insight into his fascinating career in the Police together with some of his reminiscences of life at Canford.

Mike will talk for 15-20 minutes and there will also be the opportunity for a few questions.
