Duke of Edinburgh

Canford is an accredited Duke of Edinburgh's Award Centre.  The school offers initially the Bronze Level in the pupils’ second year (Year 10) and then the Gold Award starting in Year 11. Traditionally a dozen pupils complete the Bronze Award and between 15 and 35 the Gold Award annually.

Bronze Award

The Bronze Level of the Award at Canford is open to any pupil in Year 10, though it could result in a limited CCF experience.  It is largely funded by Canford aside from enrolment and basic administrative costs.   Equipment, with the exception of walking boots, is available through the school.
