Politics Staff

Felicity Johnson

Head of Department
PHD, 1A & University Medal Botany (University of Adelaide)
Grad Dip Ed (Secondary) (University of the Sunshine Coast)

Felicity teaches A-level Politics and Year 9 Geography. She comes to the Head of the Politics Department role in September 2023 from her Head of Social Sciences middle leadership role at Brooke House College and with seven years of specialising in the delivery of Edexcel A level Politics. Felicity's PhD (The University of Adelaide, Michigan State University) led to over a decade in the USA completing research and teaching at universities such as Cornell, UC-Davis and Colorado State University. This provided a wide and unique knowledge of what Canford students might experience at North American universities when studying there.

Felicity has many years of boarding experience and is currently a tutor in Franklin House. Her previous role as EPQ (extended project qualification) coordinator provides valuable support for pupils wishing to complete this challenging qualification. One passion she shares with many at Canford School is the drive towards eco-sustainability be it from biotechnological or political perspectives.
