Friends of Canford Spring Lunch

Join the Friends of Canford for their annual Spring Lunch. 

Maureen Rose, a former dress maker to Queen Elizabeth II is confirmed as the speaker for the event. 

Maureen Rose, from Ringwood, had dreamed of being a seamstress from 10 years old. She worked for designer Sir Norman Hartnell, which led to her first visit to Buckingham Palace. Maureen went onto work for another of the Queens dress designers, Ian Thomas before working independently in a small workshop near the New Forest.  

In 1999 Maureen achieved a Royal Warrant and created her own designs for Queen Elizabeth II.

We really look forward to hearing Maureen's stories including what it was like to work for the Queen and how she used to ensure the floor was pin free, to protect the Corgi's feet.
