Membership & fees
The Club has a thriving membership. Its popularity is no surprise given its delightful setting and relaxed atmosphere.
Currently, we have availability for new members and welcome new players to be played in to the club. There is a £100 joining fee payable upon registration but this a one off fee and is not applicable at renewal.
Guests who wish to play on the course may only do so with a member and only after purchasing a guest ticket. Very few societies are admitted to the course, usually only those with which members are associated. Members who do not hold a current handicap certificate are encouraged to gain one through their participation in competitions.
New members are invited to be 'played-in' by a committee member or a club representative. This is to demonstrate an adequate degree of competence and familiarity with course etiquette and to support the player's handicap certificate, where they already hold one.

Information for Canford School Parents and Pupils
School golf
Canford Golf Club is available to all pupils to use in their leisure time or as an activity, and they can sign up for golf as a main sport.
The Canford School Golf team competes in National competitions as well as having a challenging set of traditional friendly fixtures.
The school team will consist mainly of talented single figure handicap players and one of their more distinctive features is that it may be made up of boys and girls from different year groups within the school. The prestigious National competitions, for example, the ISGA Singles Matchplay and the HMC Foursomes are played off scratch but other school matches are sometimes played off handicap to make them fairer and more fun.
When numbers permit, we field 'B' and junior teams as well. There are ample opportunities for beginners and intermediate standard golfers at Canford and coaching and tuition is provided by Colin Murray, our school professional. Colin works with the pupils who opt for golf as their sport but is also available for private tuition. School golf is keenly supported by a thriving Old Canfordian Golfing Society, who we meet up with twice a year for a competitive round and into which many of our leaver’s progress.
