Canford selected for Strategic Educational Initiative final in the 2021 TES Awards
Congratulations to OC Arthur Cordwell on his Premiership Rugby debut for Bath Rugby.
This year’s Parade sadly could not take place as usual. Our senior cadets however have been terrific throughout this year and managed to run a programme covering 70% of the normal level of activities albeit without a field day thus far.
The theme of this year’s Careers Convention, held on Friday 19th March, was ‘Start building your dream career today.’
Eighteen Fifth Form and Lower Sixth Canfordians joined over 190 pupils from schools in the UK and Europe for the MUN Conference.
We start the second half of term with a new addition to the Canford Community and the Canford Wellbeing team, Lola, our new school dog!
Canford Sixth Formers Mimi and Rosie have produced the latest in the series of ‘This Canford Life’ podcasts with a special Life in Lockdown edition.
Canford among top schools in new review
The safety, health and wellbeing of our pupils and staff remains our top priority. By officially following the Charter, as a boarding school we will be maintaining the highest standards of welfare for the children in our care.

With the recent government announcement of a lockdown until early December , we must continue to remain closed to the public.
We are fortunate to be working on pupil performances for audiences of school year groups - which means that the lights are on and we are putting into practice our Covid safe guidelines for audiences.
We hope that when we are able to welcome you back to the Layard, this will mean you feel supported to relax and safely watch live theatre, as soon as we are able to programme a new season.
We will post updates on this website and to our mailing list - if you’d like to join this, please contact layardtheatre@canford.com, detailing your name and email address.
Within this ongoing and changeable context, we remain optimistic about finding ways to welcome audiences back to the Layard, and will let you know as soon as this becomes possible.
We thank you for your continuing interest in and support of the Layard, and hope that you stay safe and well.
