We are delighted for the 156 Canfordians who have in total received over 500 offers this year. 78% of these are to Russell Group/Sunday Times Top 12 institutions in the UK, with five pupils heading to the US.
Computing Staff
Simon Rood
Simon graduated with a first class degree before working for the Space and Finance industries as a Senior Software Engineer and Architect. He then taught Maths and Computer Science for many years, most recently at Poole Grammar School. As Head of Computing at Canford, he is constantly developing academic Computing & Computer Science. He also teaches Mathematics, runs the Coding Club, helps to run Sailing and DofE, and is interested in cycling, both road and mountain, windsurfing, sailing and most outdoor adventuures.
Nick Baugniet
Nick Baugniet joined Canford in 1997 as Director of Physical Education, having previously taught in both England and Australia. He has a degree in PE from Exeter University, teaches A Level and GCSE PE and Shell Computing, and coaches teams in a variety of sports.
He plays the guitar and enjoys mountain walking. He is married to Gill and has two sons.
