MA in Geography in Education (London)
Alex joined Canford in September 2015 from Hampton School. During her time there in addition to teaching Geography she was an officer in the CCF, ran the school work experience programme and was Assistant Head of Year. Rowing has always been an interest and Alex has spent many years coaching at J15 level and has continued her coaching at Canford Boat Club.
Sascha has joined the Geography department following several years of living and working overseas. She has a Masters in International Relations as well as a degree in Environmental Science and teaches AS & A2 Politics as well as both GCSE and A level Geography. She enjoys taking many field trips, both locally and abroad, where her energy and ease with languages can be of assistance. She uses her prior experience as a communications consultant, strategist and project manager both within and outside the classroom by coaching school hockey and rowing teams, running different afternoon activities and welcoming international students. Sascha is currently Housemistress of de Lacy House.
Nicola is an experienced Geography teacher across all age groups having previously been a Head of Department. She has led expeditions to Iceland, Malaysia & Kenya. She has experience examining at AS & A2. Most recently she was a Housemistress in a girls boarding house at Uppingham, and joined Canford in September 2013 as Deputy Head Pastoral. She coaches U15 girls' hockey and teaches PSME to the Fourth Form.
Jamie joined Canford after working for two years in Kent and completing the HMC teacher training programme. Studying an even split of human and physical geography at University, he has a passion spanning the broad spectrum of the subject and teaches all year groups at Canford. Jamie loves to deliver field work, carrying out innovative geographical research both in the UK and abroad.
Jamie also coaches hockey at Canford and enjoys any opportunity to take pupils out running across the school site and beyond. He is currently the resident tutor of Court House.
Naomi joined Canford in 2019, from Hanford School, previously having taught at St Swithun's School. She enjoys teaching lessons with an out in the field feel and has led local trips to Studland and further afield to Iceland. As well as teaching Naomi is involved in the school's Duke of Edinburgh scheme and is a tutor in Lancaster House. Outside of school she enjoys surfing, skiing and running.
Bryony has joined Canford after working for three years in Essex. Geography has always been a passion of hers and she studied oceanography and geography at university which she has used in her teaching. She is a keen traveller and enjoys taking fieldtrips. She is coaching U14 Hockey and is involved in the Duke of Edinburgh award.
