We are delighted to be running our next Open Morning at Canford on Saturday 22nd April and look forward to welcoming families interested in both 13+/14+ and Sixth Form entry.
Sport
our vision
Our programme looks to give our pupils the chance to explore the opportunities that sport offers, allow them to express themselves through their physical wellbeing activities and facilitate those who wish to excel in their chosen path.
The aim is to inspire a generation of Canford pupils to achieve their potential in sport and to promote their physical wellbeing throughout their lives.
Desired pupil outcomes
- The development of core life skills across the school population using the medium of sport
- A positive attitude from pupils to physical activity through school and beyond
- Development of High Performance for those individuals and Teams who wish to strive for it
- Competitive experiences and opportunities for all - Meaningful alternatives and options to foster participation
Canford believes that sport is to be enjoyed by and is valuable to all. Self-confidence, teamwork and a sense of achievement are qualities readily transferable to other areas of their lives and all pupils are involved in sport at some level. For those in their first year it is a valuable aid to a sense of belonging. The most able proceed to county, regional and national honours but the school is proud of all its team performances.
