There was great excitement in both London and Dorset on Monday evening, 9th September, as Canford took home the prestigious ‘Public School of the Year’ trophy at the annual Tatler Schools Awards
Lacrosse is played by girls during the Easter Term. While not a major sport at Canford, there is a programme of fixtures and Canford's teams enjoy a good deal of success!
Lacrosse is offered to the senior girls (Fifth Form upwards) in the Easter Term and for the first time last year was also offered in the Christmas Term. We have about forty girls playing in the Easter Term and run two teams who have about five or six fixtures each over the term. Many pupils see it as an opportunity to try a completely new sport that they could continue with at university.
The Shells also have an introduction to Lacrosse in the carousel activity system where they get a brief introduction into the game to whet their appetite for later on.
